MM Taylor & Son Industrial Roofing and Cladding is a family run business, offering over 50 years of experience in the industrial roofing and cladding sector.
There are 3 generations of Taylors:
(more commonly known as Mo on site) is where it all started as a young 21 year old back in 1965. This brings 58 years of knowledge and experience which in time has been passed down to his son Steven Taylor.
Steven followed in his dads footsteps after leaving school in the early 1990’s. Last but not least Bradley Taylor.
Bradley is Steve's eldest son and Mo’s eldest grandson. Bradley wanted to join the business from an early age, literally trying on his grandad's boots at the age of two.
All workers at MM Taylor & Son are qualified as follows:
There is an array of roofing and cladding products out there which can be installed to your unique specification. Our draftsman will work with you and your architect throughout the whole project to make sure everything adheres to the building regulations.
A full refurbishment consists of taking the whole existing sheeting off, be it metal or asbestos right back to its original portal framework giving you a blank canvas to work with.
All of our work will comply with health and safety measures. We will then proceed with making your old and tired unit into a new and vibrant building. Any number of new roofing or cladding products can be installed to create this.
Overcladding is a great way to water tight your building. Sometimes it's not always practical to remove the tired and old existing sheeting and cladding from an industrial or commercial property.
The most cost effective solution is to just simply overclad the building.
This will minimize the disruption in the workplace and create a new looking building on the outside.
Asbestos / Metal and flat roofs can be overclad using an ashgrid spacer system or galvanised Z bar and the same with the vertical cladding.
Rooflight Replacement is a must to create natural light into the workplace and is up to 3 times more effective than windows of a similar area. The amount of light is greatly increased into the unit so much that it can save on your electrical lighting hence saving on your energy bills.
These are also great for preventing water ingress.
Natural light also helps with workforce productivity as shown in recent research studies.
We offer a service of complete gutter maintenance cleaning from fascia gutters at the edge of the building to the internal valley gutters in the center.
There are several ways to cure leaks from resealing the affected area to a full renewal system of Sharmans Plygene Gutterline System which come with a 25 year guarantee.
If caught in time the joint and end laps of your roof sheet can be treated with Sharmans (Seamsil 100 cut) edge corrosion system which comes with a 15 year guarantee.
By productively maintaining the integrity of the roof, it is possible to prevent roof fabric deterioration, avoid leaks and protect building assets from damage. Refurbishing a profiled metal roof using Sharmans Market leading Refurbishment System is the most sustainable option as it incurs 5 times less embodied carbon than replacing the entire roof.
Refurbishment before it's too late!!!
Delamination and Deterioration - Steel profiled roofing will last indefinitely provided the original factory applied coating is correctly maintained. Over time these coatings will undergo challenges of delamination and deterioration threatening the roofs structure and performance.
Protecting your roof with a full refurbishment system will extend the life cycle of the building. Roof refurbishment systems are cost effective and sustainable solutions for those who want to reduce their environmental impact whilst ensuring the longevity of their roof. Choosing a full refurbishment over a replacement will eliminate the need for new materials and will cause less disruption to the main building, mitigating carbon emissions and contributing to sustainability.
Here at MM Taylor and Son we offer a full drone survey of your entire roof and also of the vertical aspect of the building too.
A roof can be one of the most difficult areas of the building to survey due to access, traditionally equipment such as Cherry Pickers, Mewps or scaffolding was generally required to gain access.
Drones can now give you more indepth images than ever before.
Our high quality 4K images will give you a footing for either a full survey or repair work, saving on access costs.
